TwitHawk stability improvements

As the site gets more and more users, the server is having to work harder and harder to keep up, and a few of the cracks that were minor before were spreading and showing themselves more often than is acceptable.

A thankyou to all those that sent through the details of the errors they were getting, and if anybody has errors in future please do send them through to help with the sites debugging.

Various improvements have been made to both the site itself, and the Twitter search and sending scripts that should improve the sites stability, but as above, if you notice any issues, please do send them through to info -at- twithawk dot com

  1. Congrats on the 360% growth hockey stick growth. Read the update on moving to new more powerful servers. Wondering if TwitHawk has plans to move to the Cloud using (Amazon, DELL, HP and gazillion other F-2000 shops) that could handle the massive scale I predict your user base will require once the mass audience connects the dots on how effective your Twitter marketing tool really is. — Neil

Hey Neil, thanks for the kind words. TwitHawk does use the cloud for all images, styles and javascript, but for now uses a single base for the core files and database. It’s hosted on a server that is auto scaling, so all should be fine for a while to come yet before the cloud needs to completely come into play.
